"Zgoda" is a moving love story, set in the difficult times of the end of the Second World War. The story of two young men (Jakub Gierszal - "Suicide Room", "All I Love" and Julian Świeżewski - "Wołyń") in love with one girl. Zofia Wichłacz, who debuted in the role of "Biedronka" in "City 44" by Jan Komasy, won the role of the Polish Film Award - Orzeł in the category "Discovery of the Year" and the Golden Lions for the best female role at the Gdynia Film Festival. In 2017, her performance at "Amok" was awarded the Berlin Shooting Star 2017, awarded to the most talented European actors of the young generation. Maciej Sobieszczański's film was awarded at the 69th International Film Festival in Locarno in the First Look section for the best project in the post-production phase. He also appeared in the prestigious production of the 42nd Polish Film Festival in Gdynia nominated for the Golden Lions.
It is 1945. The war is about to end. In Świętochłowice in Silesia, security forces form a labor camp for the Germans, Silesians and Poles. On the pretext of punishing the traitors of the Polish nation, the UB performs purges among "unwilling communist authorities". The young boy Franek (Julian Świeżewski) is reported to work in the camp. Trying to save Anna (Zofia Wichłacz), in which she is in love. He does not know that among the prisoners was Erwin (Jakub Gierszal), a German, his friend before the war, who has long been secretly in love with a girl ... Franek joins the Communists, naively counting that he can fool the system. The first days of work in the camp ripped him off illusions. And in time he convinces himself that in order to save his beloved, he will have to sacrifice everything ...
Written by Małgorzata Sobieszczańska, the script won the 3rd Prize in the Script Pro 2012. The camera was won by Walentyn Wasjanowicz, the outstanding Ukrainian operator, the author of the film for the Cannes film "Tribe". The director of the film is Maciej Sobieszczański, whose previous film "Performer" was honored this year with the prestigious "Think" award at the Berlin International Film Festival.
